Living in the heart of Staffordshire, Eddie learnt the craft of basket making from his late father, Peter Glew and is proud to continue the tradition. He creates a diverse selection of willow items ranging from traditional baskets to woven stags and willow hurdle fencing.
A QEST Scholarship enabled Eddie to learn from a master basketmaker to increase his knowledge in the many different skills involved with the craft. Without the support of QEST Eddie would not have had the opportunity to seek training and progress his skills.
All of Eddie’s work is made using English willow, the majority of his pieces are private commissions such as log baskets, made to measure items and sculpture work. He has also completed work for Nandos and demonstrates the basket craft at agricultural shows across the country, as well as running basket making courses throughout the year.
