Susan designs and makes both traditional baskets and sculptural forms. Her workshop is based in Gloucestershire and she is a member of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen.
A QEST Garfield Weston Foundation Scholarship enabled Susan to travel to France and study with master basket maker David Drew. Susan learnt new skills and studied a number of traditional techniques which she has continued to develop and incorporate into her practice.
Throughout the year Susan exhibits in a number of shows and sells her work through galleries. Commissioned to undertake special projects for individuals, notable projects include a replica World War 1 ‘pigeon carrier’ basket for a member of The Great War Society commemorating the anniversary of WW1.
Susan teaches both adult and children’s workshops sharing the skills she has gained.
