Jennifer is an Irish maker based in Scotland who creates contemporary ceramics in porcelain and stoneware.
She studied violin and music at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and University College Dublin before training in production pottery at the Craft Council of Ireland’s Ceramics Skills and Design Course. Jennifer runs her own studio and is a teacher at Edinburgh Ceramic Workshop. She is eager to further develop her technical skills and material knowledge to make larger-scale porcelain forms.
Her QEST training includes two parts – the first is attending an intensive residential course at La Meridiana taught by master potter Riccardo Gori where she will learn techniques for throwing and assembling big pots. The second activity includes one-on-one training with Scottish ceramicist Tricia Thom where she’ll learn advanced techniques of scaling up with porcelain.
In the future, Jennifer would like to produce exciting and innovative work for solo exhibitions and group shows. She’d also like to apply for artist residencies and ceramic competitions and continue passing on her knowledge to aspiring potters.
