Being awarded a QEST Scholarship enabled Joe to complete his training in Musical Instrument Making at West Dean College, the only school in the world that has a dedicated full-time program for early stringed instruments. After graduating he worked as a restorer at Bridgewood and Nietzert Violins in east London, specialising in the restoration and setup of viols.
Joe also makes viols and violin family instruments on commission at his own studio in London.
