Sophie was the first ever apprentice in the Scenic Art department at the National Theatre. Her QEST Apprenticeship funding provided the tools and specialist equipment needed for the job, as well as courses to help her in specific areas of Scenic Artistry such as drawing and portrait painting. In 2019 Sophie won the London region award for Intermediate Apprentice of the Year.
Upon completing her apprenticeship, Sophie secured a job as a freelance Scenic Artist with Illusion Design and Construct, the company behind the sets of Jesus Hopped the A Train (Young Vic), Sylvia (Old Vic), The Colour Purple (Leicester Curve) and Secret Cinema events.
