21st February 2020
Two pieces by couture milliner Deirdre Hawken, known for the playfulness and craftsmanship of her creations, have recently been acquired for the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum in New York. The headpieces – Borlotti Beans and Summer Pudding – will be featured in the Costume Institute. They were chosen from a selection by a panel of curators, and this means the Museum now holds three of Deirdre’s works.
