Effie established her glass studio in 1999 and since then her practice has been concerned with glass and its ability to transform space. As an artist she works across a broad range of projects both sculptural and in the public realm. She has exhibited her sculptural work internationally with Contemporary Applied Arts in London and the Crafts Council in Tokyo.
A QEST Scholarship enabled Effie to study glass engraving in Bavaria with Katharine Coleman MBE. A piece of work that Effie created inspired by this experience was selected for the prestigious Coburg Prize for Contemporary Glass 2014 in Germany.
