Jon Williams

2012 QEST Garfield Weston Foundation Scholar - Ceramics
London

Jonathan enjoys the ways in which stories are constructed and relate. When making his work, he describes a sense of archaeology, that he is excavating a narrative or observations in a specific state or time.

Graduating in 2000 from Wolverhampton University, Jonathan built his reputation through exhibiting work within the UK and at international ceramics festivals in China and Japan.

Receiving a QEST Garfield Weston Foundation Scholarship in 2012, he went on to complete his MA in Ceramics & Glass at the Royal College of Art now lives in London, working out of his studio based at St Paul’s School.

There is an essence that I seek in my work, a human honesty made in between thoughts, hands and material.
