With a strong interest in traditional skills, Sally enjoys working with hand-ground ink, paints, gold leaf and vellum. She takes on a wide range of unique commissions involving calligraphy, illumination and heraldic art.
As an established freelance calligrapher, a QEST Scholarship enabled Sally to learn traditional techniques of heraldic art and illumination which greatly broadened the range of commissions she could take on.
With a prize for Heraldic Painting from the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers, and a prize for Calligraphy & Illumination from the Company of Scriveners, Sally went on to become a Trustee of QEST from 2010 to 2013, and holds a Royal Warrant to HM The Queen for Calligraphy.
