QEST Craft Corner at Mourne Textiles for August Craft Month

This August, visit Mourne Textiles, where you will find a showcase of crafts by local QEST scholars. They have recently opened shop at their mill in the Mourne Mountains, Northern Ireland, which is a third generation family run mill founded in 1954.
Contemporary blown glass tableware by QEST Eranda Foundation Scholar Scott Benefield (Benefield Spencer Glass) and handsewn leather accessories by QEST Saddlers’ Company Scholar Lucy Cushley (The Irish Saddler) partner perfectly with the luxury home furnishings woven by QEST Rokill Ltd. Scholar and Ambassador Mario Sierra, QEST Pilgrim Trust Apprentice Damien McKeown and others working at the historic, family-run mill. Open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, until 31 August.
This is just one of the events featuring QEST Scholars as part of August Craft Month, Ireland and Craft NI’s celebration of craft.
At Craft NI Gallery in Belfast, the August Craft Month Showcase Exhibition features some of the best in contemporary craft in Northern Ireland, including Scott Benefield (until 15 September). Meanwhile, works by QEST Scholar and willow sculptor Bob Johnston can be found in the Irish Craft Heroes exhibition, which showcases a select number of Northern Ireland-based Heroes from the outdoor exhibition of the same name in Botanic Gardens, Belfast.
