Our Annual Review is live!

9th August 2024

QEST is very proud to introduce our 2023-24 Annual Review.

We’re delighted to share an overview of QEST’s achievements and milestones, as well as an insight into how we’re making a real impact on the next generation of makers through our Crafting Tomorrow programmes and partnerships.

Readers can also meet our 2023 grant recipients, learn about our EDI statistics and discover fascinating Alumni profile stories.

We hope you enjoy reading the digital version of our Annual Review.

What’s inside

Inspiring the next generation

From page 12, learn all about the work QEST is doing to develop a diverse pipeline of exceptional craft talent through our range of

Crafting Tomorrow programmes.  We’re grateful to our key partners the National Saturday Club, Intoart and Education & Employers who are helping us to inspire careers in craft and making.

Alumni spotlight

From a thatcher and silversmith to a historic timber conservator and furniture maker, we profile six craftspeople (including passementerie artist Elizabeth Ashdown, pictured) who are making a mark in their field, supported by QEST funding.

You can also discover the makers who were awarded grants in 2023 – from page 22.

Scholar collaborations

Head to page 42 for an insight into how QEST Alumni are collaborating with our donors, UK brands and Royal Warrant-holding companies. Globemaker and QEST Garfield Weston Foundation Scholar and Trustee Jonathan Wright (pictured) and members of the Penhaligon’s team detail how they worked together on a recent campaign combining bespoke globes and perfume.

Thank you

We’d like to thank all those who have contributed to this Annual Review, but most of all a huge thank you to our donors and supporters, who make our work possible, enabling QEST to have significant impact.
