Abigail is a hand-embroidery artist, maker and teacher. She loves to create pieces that have a life beyond the embroidery hoop, whether it be a wearable accessory to make someone feel fabulous, a functional item for the home or an eye-catching piece of wall art. But what Abigail loves even more is teaching, passing on her skills to others so they can create their own beautiful, hand-embroidered objects.
QEST funding supported Abigail during her training at the Royal School of Needlework on the school’s specialist tutor-training course – the Future Tutor Programme. She graduated in 2023 with Distinction and was also awarded the prize for Top Student by The Worshipful Company of Broderers.
In the autumn of 2023, Abigail’s work was exhibited at the Guildhall Art Gallery in London as part of the acclaimed Treasures of Gold and Silver Wire exhibition celebrating 400 years of the Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers. She was also part of the team that worked on the anointing screen for the King’s Coronation in 2023. Abigail is a Fellow of the Royal School of Needlework.
