A&M Restoration and Conservation was established in 2000 by Maria and fellow QEST Scholar Ann-Sofie Widegren after they both finished 5 years of study in the restoration and conservation of furniture and decorative surfaces. A QEST Scholarship enabled Maria to attend a 10 day full time advanced gilding restoration course in Bologna, Italy. The course taught her traditional methods in gilding as well as how to use old traditional paint techniques.
She continues to run her successful business with Ann-Sofie from their workshop in London.
