Sarah is training in engraving with her father, David, who started working at J.J. Bergin in 1965 as a trainee and within 12 years became joint-owner of the company. Clients have included Asprey and Garrard, and David also teaches engraving at the Goldsmiths Centre.
QEST Pewterers’ Company funding will allow Sarah to train on a full time basis, work on different types of engraving and perfect her work on lettering and logos (on a 1:1 basis and on external courses). Once she reaches a level of mastery in her engraving, she will be able to assume more work and commissions, while David continues to teach at the Goldsmiths Centre.
