Marcia works as a freelance stone carver, letter cutter and mason. She has had her own workshop in Sydenham, London for the last eight years.
QEST awarded Marcia a scholarship in 2001 so she could do the one year full time stone masonry course at the Building Craft College in Stratford East. Having already completed the architectural stone carving and letter cutting course at The City & Guilds of London Art School in Kennington and then gone on to work in the USA, Marcia wanted more background knowledge of stone masonry.
Since having received the QEST scholarship and successfully completed her stone masonry course, Marcia has worked numerous times for The Dulwich Picture Gallery, worked for Stowe School, Wentworth Castle in South Yorkshire, Westminster Abbey and Cathedral Works Organisation.
Marcia continues to teach as she has done for the last ten years, stone carving at The British Museum and at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. She is currently doing further work for the Royal British Legion on a First World War Memorial.
